Thinking of buying a used Infiniti with a repaired frame, what should I check first? - bramelliott - 15.10.2026 I have been looking for a second car for my wife for about a month, and last weekend I found a 2016 Infiniti QX50 that looks almost perfect. The price is good, the inside is clean, and it only has 82,000 km. Then the seller told me, very casually, that the car was in a small accident two years ago and the front part was fixed. He said it is nothing serious and that the papers are fine. That sentence stayed in my head all night. I took a quick look under the car with my phone light and saw some fresh black paint on one of the metal parts near the front wheel, and the gaps between the hood and the fender looked a little uneven on one side. I am not an expert, so I could be wrong. When I drove it for ten minutes, the steering felt okay, but I noticed the car pulled slightly to the left on the straight road. The seller said it only needs an alignment. My friend, who sold cars for a few years, told me to walk away from any car with frame work. My uncle said the opposite, that many good cars were repaired well and a proper fix can be as strong as new. I read a page on to understand what the base of the car does in an accident, and it helped me see why bent parts can change how the tires wear and how the car drives. That made me think I should get it checked before I pay anything, so I started looking for a Professional Infiniti chassis repair workshop in MBZ City to see if they can inspect it for me, since it is close to where the seller lives. My questions are easy ones. Is a repaired chassis always a bad sign, or does it depend on who did the work? How can a normal person see if the measurements are still correct? Would uneven tire wear in a few months be the first clue? And is it fair to ask the seller to lower the price because of the repair? I really want honest advice before I make a mistake. Thanks for reading. |
