W204 C-Class aircon blowing warm, need someone who knows Mercedes - bobbyrussell - 29.09.2026
My C-Class aircon gave up right as the heat kicked in, which is obviously the worst possible timing. It blows warm on both sides, the compressor seems to be engaging but the vent temps are nowhere near what they should be. I took it to a local garage and they just topped up the refrigerator, charged me, and it was back to warm within a week, so clearly there's a leak or a sensor issue they didn't bother chasing. I've read that these systems have a lot of electronics tied in and it's not just about gas pressure, but I don't want to keep paying for guesswork. Someone recommended a Genuine Mercedes repair center in MBZ City, said they actually traced a similar problem on his E-Class down to a pressure sensor rather than just refilling it. My question is whether an aircon fault on these is usually the compressor or the sensors, and how do you find a shop that will actually diagnose it properly instead of just charging the gas and sending you off? Any experiences welcome.
