My Range Rover Velar is three years old, and I found out last week that the brake pad sensor on the front axle is almost worn out. I have never bought pads for a car this expensive, and I do not want to get it wrong. Every place I called in Al Quoz gave me a different story. One said only genuine pads are safe for a heavy SUV. Another said the pads they sell are made by the same factory and cost half the price. A third just said “come in and we will see.” I looked online for some Exclusive Range Rover brake pad dealers in Al Quoz, but every page said the same thing, so I still do not know who is honest. The car has about sixty thousand kilometers, and I do a lot of stop and go driving. How can I tell if a pad is really genuine? Is there a box, a part number or a stamp I can check? Does it matter who made the pad if the quality is the same? Do shops give a warranty on pads, and is it written on the receipt? Do the discs need changing at the same time, or only when they are worn? Is it normal to ask for the old pads back? So, how much should a set of front pads cost on a Range Rover, so I know if a quote is too high or too low? If you bought pads lately, please tell me where you went, what you paid, and what you would do differently. Easy answers help me most.
